Sahyog Krishi Vikas Limited (SAHYOG)

Sahyog Krishi Vikas Limited (SAHYOG) was a farmer-owned agri-enterprise promoted by SAVE in the salinity-affected coastal regions of Gujarat. The initiative was implemented over five years to strengthen small and marginal farmers by improving productivity, reducing risks, and enhancing incomes through organised market and advisory support.

The programme covered 1,500 farmer shareholders across Bhavnagar, Rajkot, and Bharuch districts. SAVE established six Agri-Malls in strategic rural locations, each serving around 300 farmers. These centres provided access to quality agricultural inputs, collective procurement, farm implements, and marketing support for produce.

In addition to commercial services, SAHYOG offered soil and water testing, crop planning guidance, weather and market information, and linkages to insurance and risk mitigation schemes. Farmer Clubs and Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) were promoted, and landless households were supported to access surplus agricultural land under government schemes.

Through initiatives such as Sahyog Krishi Kendra and the Asal Fasal market platform, SAVE demonstrated a practical, farmer-owned model for climate-resilient agriculture in coastal Gujarat.
